Stewed Fruit

We can’t just eat anything for breakfast. It’s important to have a healthy and nutritious breakfast. Your breakfast shouldn’t be heavy, shouldn’t leave you stuffed and tired. So, don’t eat your breakfast like a king! 🙃 Breakfast is important meal of the day but not in quantity. It is the proper fuel to start the engine.

Breakfast shouldn’t be a meal where you consume sugar and excess fat, or too many calories. What you eat at breakfast can affect how you feel for hours afterwards.

We digest fruits much more quickly than other foods.

Here is a nice recipe for you to enjoy.

Take 5 Slow, Deep And Purposeful Breaths, Smile To Yourself. Set An Intention For The Meal.

Ingredients

Servings: 1

  • 3 seasonal fruits of your choice, chopped (apple, pear, *kiwis, plum…)
  • ½ teaspoon dried mint

Spice mix:

· ½ teaspoon cinnamon
· ⅛ teaspoon cardamom
· pinch of nutmeg
· pinch of groung ginger

Toppings (optional): hemp seeds; ½ avocado; 1 tablespoon goji berries (or any dried fruit of your choice); homemade granola.

To Make

  • Chop fruits.
  • Add 250 ml (1 cup) water in a small pan, fruits and the spice mix.

The amount of water depends on how much liquid you prefer.

  •  Add dried mint.
  • Simmer covered on low heat for about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Turn off the heat and let sit covered for a few more minutes. Serve warm.
  • Sprinkle with some hemps seeds.
  • Add your favourite topping or simply enjoy the fruits.
  • Enjoy your Fruit O’clock!

Notes:

  • In winter I like to stew only apples and top them with some dried goji berries or raisins.
  • *Don’t stew a kiwi, add in the end.
  • Feel free to omit or add any spice you like. As always, play with the spices.

Make sure that you are eating enough to keep you satisfied until lunch.
