I am a food scientist. When cooking, I like to experiment with different flavours, new spice blends and fresh herbs. Every time I travel to a new place, I enjoy exploring a new style of cuisine. So, I always write down main ingrediants of a dish I like and then create my own healthier version.
We all agree that the sight of our food is equally as important as the taste. That is why I love eating colours. They spark my eyes then my brain by imagining how each colour tastes like. Afterwards tasting becomes a full sensory experience.
All recipes are plant-based and easy to make. I cook with a lot of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, plant proteins, fresh herbs and spices. I like to enjoy natural taste of fruits and vegetables so I think there is no need for too much sugar, oil or salt.
I am constantly trying to make my recipes healthier by thinking of different substitutes. We can still enjoy sweet treats without adding tons of sugar. I would go for a natural source of sugar like banana, sweet potato, apple compote or date paste. It’s possible to eat salads without oil by adding more fresh herbs, lemon juice or fruit paste.
The simpler it is, the better it tastes
I love trying recipes from different countries, I travelled and lived in. Through my travels I have learned about different food cultures which are quite diverse and delicious. They trigger my curiosity and creativity to create my own version of a dish and adjust it to my liking. Thus I will share with you some of my favourite recipes. These are not original dishes since I created my own variations which are plant-based.
