Tame your inner critic and overcome negative thoughts by paying attention to your often unconscious reactions and judgments.

Is your inner critic keeping you from trying something you might enjoy? Are you living in a story of a limited self?

All you need to do is to change your relationship to those stories in your head. Ask yourself, “Are they true in the present moment?” By paying attention to your often unconscious reactions and judgments enables you to choose to respond differently.

That inner voice that tells you “You’re not good enough, “ or “You always screw up,” or “You should just give up,” is the main obstacle to inner freedom and transformation.

It makes you question your worth, stops you from achieving your goals, prevents you from trying new things and becoming the person you wish to be.

I’ve been practicing this lately. Throughout the day, I try to catch that voice when it appears and replace it. I consciously choose thoughts that support me and uplift me.

The thoughts we think and the words we speak create our experiences daily.

The words are so so so so powerful, and your mind is always listening. Make an effort to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. The more you tell yourself, the more your mind will believe you.

“You can do anything you want to do. It’s your thinking that you can’t do it that’s stopping you.”

overcome negative thoughts

I have a little challenge for you this week 🙂

For every negative thought about yourself or anybody else today, challenge yourself to think of three kind thoughts too. Reflect on something you like and appreciate about yourself and others.

Thoughts are just ideas, but they become powerful when you identify with them.

I’m not my thoughts” is a sentence I repeat to myself very often. Work on noticing and detaching yourself from the story that runs on a loop in your mind. You can change the nature of these patterns by choosing better feeling thoughts, the ones that bring you joy.

We can’t force our mind to do anything. We can’t just silence that voice in our head or chase it out. What we can do is to understand the nature of our mind. Sit back with your thoughts, emotions, and feelings, give them a gentle, friendly and curious attention. Explore what happens in your body and in your mind.

Gentle approach is what works best. Changing your relationship to them decreases their power. You choose the ones you want to nurture and the ones that need to go out of the way.

You are so much more than your thoughts!

Wishing you a great week ahead,

With 💜 & 🙏
