How do you respond when you can’t fit into your favourite dress? Do you scold yourself for wasting your time (I do🙋‍♀️) or for eating junk food? Do you feel guilty for eating too much? Do you often compare yourself to others?

Cultivate The Power of Self-Love Throgh Yoga

I invite you to pay attention to how you respond to such situations and what you tell yourself. Either is self-love or self-sabotage.

We’re challenged daily to act lovingly towards ourselves.

Self-love is like a muscle; it gains strength over time. So, we have to practice it daily, and make it a habit.

Self-love doesn’t mean ignoring your problems, denying your mistakes and imperfections but acknowledging them, relating to them with kindness, and treating yourself with self-compassion.

Love for yourself enables you to change, learn, and grow. It includes every aspect of your life – the good, the bed, the shameful, the challenging, the difficult … It’s all about your attitude, you express love by what you do. You want to offer physical, mental, and emotional care to yourself.

For me every yoga practice offers an opportunity to nurture my relationship with myself by redirecting my attention inward. I become present to my thoughts, emotions, and body sensations as I flow from one pose to the next which allows me to cultivate inner focus and self-acceptance.

I hope you enjoy it!

Love becomes real through our behaviour ❣️

Cultivate The Power of Self-Love Throgh Yoga

Becoming aware of your thoughts, emotions, and behavioural patterns is the key to freedom and self- growth.

Our minds create stories all the time. Sometimes we’re heroes other times victims depending of our point of view at that moment. Some of those stories contribute to anxiety, fear, unworthiness, self-blame… Overall, they don’t serve us.

If you just take a moment to pause, get quiet, feel your breath, and ask yourself “Is this story true in this moment?”, you will be able to rewrite the story.

Question those inner critics as much as you can. Investigate the source of each story with mindfulness and self-compassion. You might be surprised how many of them are coming from your childhood. They don’t even belong to you. They are just stories not the truth.

Let’s reflect on this question:

What are simple gestures of respect and kindness we can do daily to show ourselves love? Make a choice to move, think, speak, and act from a place of love.

You are not perfect, but you are enough!
