The Gift of Change
As I’ve been feeling a deep change within myself for the past couple of years, today I felt inspired to share with you my thoughts on this topic and a yoga practice inspired by it. 🙂
Change is always happening. How we relate to change determines the way we experience our life, the quality of our life.
Do you often resist change, try to control it or go with the flow?
The seasons are changing every year and we see it as a natural phenomenon. But as soon as we ourselves undergo change, we perceive it as something unnatural and unacceptable. We mentally understand that the change is inevitable but emotionally we resist it. There is always that fear of unknown which makes us live life in a controlling and fearful way. Tim Ferriss said “People would rather be unhappy than uncertain.” So true!
I believe that change is the most important aspect of our life journey. Even though sometimes it can be scary and uncomfortable but embracing change is key to our inner growth.
What’s like to relax with changing flow, to let go of fears and worries and embrace the ways we’re changing?
Take time to breathe slowly, move mindfully and allow the chapters of your life to unfold naturally.
This short vinyasa flow will reconnect you to the present moment through breath, movement and the power of attention.

How to Accept and embrace change without fear
Life is constantly presenting us with new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow. We can embrace them with grateful hearts and open minds, or we can resist them which will create fear and anxiety. Our willingness to leave our cocoons of comfort and open to it changes our entire experience. How we perceive those situations is really 100% our choice.
The problem is that we spend a lot of time on autopilot, so we allow unconscious habits and patterns to drive our response and create repeated experiences. Becoming aware of your mental patterns helps you break those patterns and open to this changing flow without trying to control it.
We can train our mind to approach and respond to change differently by cultivating a growth mindset. When you have a growth mindset you see daily challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, mistakes as valuable lessons, and your personality as everchanging and evolving. You’re not stuck in being one way or the other, you allow yourself to be who you need to be in the moment.
Mindfulness meditation has been one of my most effective and valuable tools for adopting this kind of mindset. Ability to sit in silence, give my fullest attention to breath and simply watch thoughts and emotions without getting caught up in them helped me to meet daily challenges with more ease, awareness, and less stress. Once you turn your attention inward, you’re able to see and understand your inner world. You become open and curious about your thoughts, emotions, and feelings. Self-understanding is the best path you can take to thriving during change and making wiser choices.
I know that for some this may be a challenge, but I encourage you to at least give it a try. It’s actually easier than you think and definitely worth it. In case you need help to start your meditation journey, I share a brief guided meditations inside my online class library to help you make meditation a daily habit so you can experience countless benefits of this practice.
